Toyota Crosses into a Bold Direction with All-New Toyota Corolla Cross

Toyota made a big leap as its first-ever hybrid crossover SUV, Corolla Cross, entered the market this year. The automobile brand once again reaffirmed its reputation for perfectly combining form and function with the all-new Corolla Cross.

The Corolla Cross kicks off a lasting impression with its large double trapezoid front grille, making this compact SUV appear wide and paints an image of stability. Its high approach angles also give a commanding stance and makes the vehicle highly capable on speed bumps.

Interior

Inside the Corolla Cross is an even better sight to behold. Toyota opted for a classy minimalist black interior for all variants, and with leather-trimmed seats for the hybrid variant. Passengers will also find it easier to move around and get into the Corolla Cross since its wide cabin space and slim seatback benefit both front and backseat passengers.

The base variants of the Cross contain a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that pushes out 138hp and 172 Nm of torque. The hybrid variant, on the other hand, contains a 1.8-liter hybrid power plant that pushes out 98hp and 142 Nm of torque, which can further accelerate to 120hp with the aid of the electric motor.

Fuel-efficiency and Energy-saving Capability

As a hybrid vehicle, this top-of-the-line variant of the Corolla Cross consumes less fuel when the electric motor powers up the engine. Since it uses less fuel, it also produces less C02 emissions. Its electric mode also guarantees smooth acceleration.

The gasoline engine variants of the Corolla Cross run on an average fuel consumption of 15.4 kilometers per liter. The hybrid engine takes fuel efficiency further with an average consumption of 23.3 kilometers per liter.

Toyota never fails to provide safety features for its models. The Toyota Corolla Cross is equipped with Toyota’s Safety Sense which features a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, automatic high beam, and a reverse camera for all variants. The hybrid variant takes safety features further with two clearance sonar sensors in the front and four sensors in the rear
